You can create Click-to-WhatsApp ads in Meta to start conversations directly with potential customers. When someone clicks the WhatsApp call-to-action (CTA) button, a chat with your business opens instantly, allowing customers to contact you without visiting a website or filling out a form.
Requirements
Before creating ads with a WhatsApp CTA button, make sure you have:
Access to Meta Ads Manager
A Meta ad account
Note: Your WhatsApp number must also be connected to your Facebook Page so Meta can link the ad directly to your WhatsApp chat.
Create a Click-to-WhatsApp Ad
Go to Meta Ads Manager and click Create to start a new campaign.
Select a campaign objective that supports messaging interactions, such as:
Messages
Engagement
Leads
Select whether or not you want a Tailored messages campaign (recommended) or to create a campaign manually, then press Continue.
Once you have added the Name of the ad and declared any applicable special ad category in the dropdown menu, scroll down and select WhatsApp as the messaging destination.
At this point, you can either select a pre-existing connected number, or connect a new one.
To complete the ad, define your audience, schedule, placements and budget in the sections below. Then click Next.
Choose your ad format in Ad creative (image, video, or carousel).
In the ensuing window, write your ad text.
The CTA button will automatically display something like Send message (which you can see by selecting the Ad preview toggle).
Optionally, you can also add pre-filled messages that users can send when they open the chat.
When you are happy with your ad, you can click Publish.
Once published, whenever someone sees the ad and clicks the CTA button, they will start a WhatsApp conversation with your business.
