When would I use a general template?
A general template is useful when you want to send repetitive message content and, unlike WhatsApp templates, can be used on any channel.
It’s important to note that these templates can only be used when a conversation is already open. This means for WhatsApp (and in certain cases Instagram), they cannot be used to reach a customer outside of the 24-hour window. It is also good to know that these templates do not support variables.
It can help to think of them like a draft you’ve prepared in advance that you can quickly send whenever needed. They don’t open conversations, but they do speed up repetitive processes.
