Check if you have Meta Business Portfolio admin access

How to quickly check whether you have admin access to your Meta Business Portfolio and what to do if you don't.

Written by Martha Franklin

A common source of confusion is the difference between having admin access to a Facebook Page and having admin access to a Meta Business Portfolio. Many customers have one but not the other — and some Superchat features require Portfolio-level access to set up correctly.

The quickest way to check is:

If you can see Business Info in the menu — you have admin access to the Business Portfolio. You're good to go.

If you cannot see Business Info — you are not an admin of the Business Portfolio. You may still have admin access to a Facebook Page, but this is not the same thing. You will need to ask the Portfolio admin to grant you access.

If you see 'Other assets' — you do not have access to the Business Portfolio itself. In this case, you can:

  • Ask a colleague to add them with Full Access to an existing portfolio.

  • Or, when adding a WhatsApp number to Superchat, create a new Business Portfolio in the setup flow.

Whoever does have admin access can grant you the necessary permissions in the People section.
