Logging in to Facebook using one-time passcodes
Facebook may ask you to enter a one-time passcode (OTP) to ensure two-factor authentication (2FA) when:
logging in from a new device or browser
logging in from a new location
Facebook detects unusual login activity
How it works
When prompted, Facebook sends a one-time passcode to one of your linked methods, such as:
SMS
email
authenticator app
This step is important to protect access to your business page. To enable 2FA:
Click on your Facebook profile and select Settings & privacy.
Then search for Accounts Centre and select it in the dropdown menu.
Then click on Password and security, then Two-factor authentication and follow the flow from there.
Note: Any person with admin rights to your Meta Business account must set up two-step authentication.
Check if your Facebook profile has admin rights in the Meta Business Account
To manage Meta assets (Pages, Instagram accounts, WhatsApp accounts) and connect them to Superchat, your Facebook profile usually needs the correct role—most importantly Admin access.
How to check your role
Open Meta Business Suite, then go to Settings (or Business settings) and navigate to Users → People. Then find your Facebook profile and check your assigned role.
If your role is not Admin, you may not be able to:
connect accounts/channels
manage permissions
complete verification steps
access certain Meta settings required for WhatsApp API setup
If you are not an Admin
You will need an existing admin to add your Facebook profile as a user, and/or upgrade your role to Admin
Adjust your company’s business information
Keeping your business information up to date in Meta can help prevent issues later on (for example during business verification or when connecting Meta channels).
Open Meta Business Setting, then go to Business info and click Edit in the top right corner.
There, enter your company details, such as:
official business name
address
phone number
website
Tip: Make sure the information matches your official business documents (e.g. registration documents or invoices). This is especially important if you plan to complete Meta business verification.
