For a connected phone number with an approved display name, the messaging limits vary between 1,000, 10,000, 100,000, or even unlimited, depending on quality rating and usage behavior. However, a low quality rating could reduce the limit back to 250, unless there is an improvement or an upgrade request.

Step by step Guide:

  1. Phone number status must be connected.

  2. The quality rating of the phone number should be either Medium or High.

  3. The display name of your business phone number must be approved by WhatsApp.

  4. Your account should have spent at least 48 hours at the current messaging limit.

  5. Active conversations in the last 7 days:

    1. Within the last 7 days, you should have had conversations with a number of unique customers that matches the current messaging limit.

Example: If your current limit is 1,000 conversations, you should have started conversations with at least 1,000 customers in the last 7 days, e.g., 500 on day 1 and 500 on day 2.

6. Make adjustments based on negative feedback. If you consistently receive negative feedback, this may lead to a reduction in your limit.

  • Messages should be personalized and useful for your customers.

  • Avoid excessive messaging and ensure a clear value in your messages.

Upgrading and Downgrading of Restrictions

The rating depends on how messages have been received by recipients in the last seven days. It is based on user feedback signals, such as blocks and complaints. All relevant information and settings can be found in the WhatsApp Manager.

Note: The quality rating can vary from "Active - Quality Pending" to "Active - Low Quality". To maintain high quality, businesses should ensure they follow WhatsApp's guidelines and send only useful, personalized messages.
