Prepare Your Meta Business Account Before Your Onboarding Call
If you're setting up WhatsApp for the first time and need to create a new Meta Business/WhatsApp account, we recommend doing it a few days before your onboarding call, following the steps below.
This is because brand-new Meta accounts are very often restricted or blocked automatically right after creation, and getting this resolved can take anywhere from a few minutes to about a day.
Doing this in advance means your onboarding call can focus on setting up your AI Agent, rather than waiting on Meta.
Why this happens
Meta applies automated risk and quality checks to new Business accounts as part of its policies for the WhatsApp Business API.
Brand-new accounts with little to no history are more likely to get flagged by these automated checks, even when there's nothing actually wrong with the account or the business behind it.
This is a check on Meta's side, not something caused by Superchat.
How to tell if your account is restricted and what to do
In business.facebook.com/accountquality, you should see that the Status is restricted. In this case, simply click the button next to it.
In the ensuing pop-up, press the blue button to start the review process.
Confirm that you are not a robot and press Continue.
Then, enter a Phone Number that you have immediate access to (it doesn't have to be the one associated with your account). Make sure you give the correct area code (e.g. +44 for UK, +49 for Germany). Then press Send Code.
You will then receive a 6-digit code for that number. Enter the code and press Continue.
In some cases, you will then also need to confirm your email address. In this case, enter an email address you have immediate access to and press Send Code.
Again, simply enter the code that has been sent to your email address.
Then, in the next step, upload a photo of an identification document, which can be an international ID, Passport or driving license.
After that, the review process is finalised. You will then receive an update about the process within the next 48 hours, which should then ususally allow you to continue using your account as normal.
