What is this error and why am I seeing this?
This error message can be alarming, but actually only shows up because currently your account is not on the Superchat credit line.
This can lead to issues with Meta, such as templates not being sent, which may result in the Issue with payment method error.
There is no issue for concern here, and you can quickly solve the problem by following the flow below.
How do I fix this?
Go to Settings → Inboxes & Channels → the inbox where the affected channel is located → affected channel.
You will the call-to-action Fix payment method issue in a red box in the ensuing pop up. Click Start now to begin the flow.
Ensure you have both pre-requisites before pressing Continue.
The next page will guide you through the process for disabling two-step verification, which you need to do for the migration process. If you have any issues with the flow, you can find explanatory videos on the right. Afterwards, you can confirm that the two-factor authentication is switched off.
You then need to create a new WhatsApp account. We have added the Meta flow below, however if you also need additional information, you can find it in the explanatory video on the right-hand side. When you are finished, you can then press Continue.
After that, a Facebook window will open where you can continue the flow.
Press Get started.
In the next window, select the relevant Business portfolio, which will automatically take the information added previously. Then click Next.
Then, select Create a WhatsApp Business account, the WhatsApp Business account name and relevant Timezone. Then press Next.
Once that's done, press Confirm.
Then click Finish.
Then you need to verify your number by requesting a code to the number. Once you have requested and received the code via call, you can then click Verify and finalise number, entering the code when prompted.
Once that is completed, the payment method is updated! You can then press Close to end the flow.
When you return to the channel settings now, the error code and call-to-action will now be gone.
