What to do when a message is undeliverable via WhatsApp.

When a message appears as undeliverable or the contact you are trying to reach is unavailable, it usually indicates an issue on the recipient’s side rather than a problem with Superchat.

This error originates from WhatsApp and cannot be resolved directly within Superchat. If the recipient has completed the steps above and the issue persists, they should update or reinstall their WhatsApp application.

Possible Reasons

  • The recipient’s phone number is not registered with WhatsApp.

  • The recipient has not accepted WhatsApp’s latest Terms of Service or Privacy Policy.

  • The recipient is using an outdated version of WhatsApp.

Minimum supported WhatsApp versions are:

  • Android: 2.21.15.15

  • SMBA: 2.21.15.15

  • iOS: 2.21.170.4

  • SMBI: 2.21.170.4

  • KaiOS: 2.2130.10

  • Web: 2.2132.6

How to Resolve the Issue

Ask the recipient (via another communication channel, e.g. email) to check the following:

  • Ask the customer to update WhatsApp to the latest version
Updating the app usually resolves compatibility issues.

  • Ask the contact to accept WhatsApp’s latest Terms of Service
They can find this in WhatsApp under: Settings → Help or Settings → Application information.
