You would like to use SMS with Superchat? Learn how to connect your SMS channel via Twilio.

ℹ️ This article covers adding SMS via Twilio.

Please note, you can only connect new SMS channels via Twilio.

Step-by-Step Instructions

  1. Navigate to the Inbox in Superchat.

  2. Select the Inbox you want to link with your Twilio Profile.

  3. Scroll down to Channels.

  4. Click on Add.

  5. Choose SMS via Twilio.

  6. In the modal that opened, add the following details:

    • Internal name: The name of your channel in Superchat. Only used for internal purposes. It’s best to use something easy to recognise like “Main number”, “Sales number”, “Support line”

    • Phone Number: The phone number which you want to connect in E164 (international) format.

    • Account SID: Your Twilio Account SID. You get this value from your Twilio Account under console.twilio.com

    • Authentication Token: Your Twilio Authentication Token. You get this value from your Twilio Account under console.twilio.com

  7. Click “Connect”.

Rates for sending and receiving SMS

Twilio charges you different rates for outbound and inbound messages depending on the number you send from or receive to.

Payment for SMS charges from Twilio

For any charges for sending and receiving SMS via Twilio you pay directly to Twilio. Please upload credit to your Twilio account in order to be able to text customers.

Also, please make sure to have auto top-ups on to avoid running into messaging issues as you run out of credits on Twilio.
