With our unified messaging inboxes, the Live Chat channels function like any of the other communication channels in Superchat.

You can create as many live chat channels as you like and assign them to different inboxes. For example, create one channel per location, brand or company.

Note: Live Chats can only be used in a Web Widget.

Step 1: Create channel

Go to Settings → Inboxes & Channels → Relevant inbox → Add Live Chat

Set all your preferences for the appearance of your live chat. Decide on:

  • An internal name

  • A profile picture or logo

  • Your display name, which will later be displayed to your contacts in the widget

  • Whether read receipts should be shown.

Then click Create. Of course, all preferences can be adjusted at any time.

Step 2: Add your channel to the webchat widget

Add your live chat channel to a webchat. If you have already created a webchat, you can select the desired webchat widget in the ensuing window.

If you don't have a Web Widget yet, you can create a Web Widget directly from the modal. For instructions on how to create one, click here.

After pressing Continue, you can configure the Web Widget settings, such as appearance, copy and localisation.

Step 3: Add Web Widget to Website

If you have not already done so, at the end of the Live Chat setup flow, you will be prompted to install the Web Widget onto your website.

To do this, all you need to do is copy the script at the bottom of the page (this will already be individualised with your API Key) and paste it into the <head> section of your website.

If you are having any issues, you can find specific installation guides by scrolling to the bottom of the page.

Once you are happy with the Web Widget configuration, you can click Test Installation. Once satisfied with the outcome, you can then press Done.
