Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) adds an extra layer of security to your Superchat account by requiring more than just your password to log in. In addition to your password, you’ll need a time-limited code, helping ensure that only you can access your account even if your password is compromised.
Before proceeding, please ensure you have already downloaded and set up an authenticator app on your phone, such as Google Authenticator or Microsoft Authenticator.
How to enable Two-Factor Authentication (2FA)
Click the Settings icon in the top-right corner and select Profile from the left-hand menu, then navigate to Security and click Activate.
Use your phone to scan the QR code displayed on the screen with your preferred authenticator app. It is often easiest to go into your authenticator app first and select a 'Scan QR Code' option than scanning the code from your phone camera app. Once successful, enter the code generated by the app into the Code field.
Save the recovery code provided. This code will help you regain access if you lose your Authenticator app.
After that, you will be prompted to enter a code again (don't worry if it's not the same as before, authenticator apps generate new codes every minute or so by design). Simply enter the code and press Continue to complete the setup.
How to disable Two-Factor Authentication (2FA)
If you have set up 2FA previously, you can disable it by clicking Settings, Profile, Security and then Deactivate.
