What does it mean to mark a contact as subscribed?
If you’ve already received a customer’s opt-in to receive promotional WhatsApp messages, you can manually mark them as subscribed in the Contact Hub.
Subscribed contacts appear in the Subscribers list under Campaigns.
You can then target them when sending out WhatsApp newsletters or campaigns.
Why should you work with newsletter opt-ins
Ensures that campaigns are only sent to contacts who explicitly agreed to receive promotional content.
Keeps your WhatsApp marketing compliant and customer-friendly.
Helps you build and manage a clean, permission-based subscriber list.
How to mark contacts as subscribers
1. Go to the Contact Hub.
2. Select one or more contacts using the checkboxes.
3. Click the three dots (more options) menu.
4. Select Mark as subscribers.
The selected contacts are now marked as subscribed and available in the Campaigns → Subscribers section.
Using subscribers in campaigns
When creating a campaign, use the Subscribed = Yes filter to target only your subscribers.
You can then send the campaign to all subscribers or apply additional filters (e.g. contact lists, attributes) to segment further.
