Introduction

WhatsApp quick replies can be used as part of an automation.

What makes a WhatsApp quick reply special is that you can add up to three quick replies to your message. When your contact clicks on one of them, they send the selected sentence or word.

With a WhatsApp list, up to 10 options are available, whereas WhatsApp quick replies allow only up to 3. However, WhatsApp quick replies are more intuitive for contacts.

Step by Step guide

  1. First, create an automation in Superchat.

  2. Add another step to the automation after the trigger and select "WhatsApp Quick Responses".

  3. Enter a message you would like to send to the contact.

  4. Under "Quick Responses," you can define up to 3 options.

  5. In the advanced settings, you can configure how many hours the user's input remains valid. This can be useful if you want to send a reminder to the user after 23 hours if they haven't responded to your message. Additionally, you can display an error message to the contact if they send a different message instead of clicking on one of your responses.

  6. If you want, you can set up different next steps within the automation by clicking on the respective circle in the automation and defining the next step using drag and drop.

Important notes & limitations

  • A WhatsApp quick response can only be sent within an automation if the last message from your contact was less than 24 hours ago. If it has been longer, you must use a WhatsApp template.

  • If a contact selects an option within the WhatsApp quick response and later decides on a different option, they will not automatically be brought back to the step in the automation.
