Since Superchat does not offer a dedicated test environment for automations, the safest way to test them without affecting customers is to temporarily adjust a filter to something highly specific that no customer would normally trigger. You can then publish the automation and test it yourself before reverting the filter to its original condition.

Instructions:

Say you have an automation that is set to trigger when a message contains the word 'Discount'.

To test the automation, simply change the text in the message content filter to something ultra-specific, such as 'Test123'. You can do this by clicking on the filter node and editing the value in the area shown below.

NOTE: If you want to be extra certain that no customer will trigger the automation, you can change the value to 'equals', meaning only the exact text you enter in the message content filter will trigger the automation.

At this point, you can then publish the automation and message 'Test123' to the business number (from your own phone, for example) to see if the automation works.

This way, you can be sure that no customers will trigger the automation and you can see if the automation has the intended outcome. Once you are happy with the result your testing is complete!

❗ Don't forget to then revert your filter back to its original value!
